Ask Information Anytime…. Dubai eGovernment has introduced an innovative service for customers through SMS to request information from various government departments anytime… Customers can begin a communication with the Government Departments by inquiring information on their services by sending an SMS with a keyword* and parameters to 4488 and receive an instant response to their inquiry.

Governments Departments that are providing this service are:.

Dubai Civil Aviation

• Flight Information:
  Arrival and Departures time schedule at Dubai Airport
• Flight Information Tracking:
  Customers can receive updated information of a flight status. For example, is the flight delayed, expected time of arrival/departures till the end of the status; arrived, departed or cancelled.

Dubai Police

• Traffic Fines
  Customers can inquire for traffic fines and receive information about the total number of tickets and amount payable.

Dubai Economic Department

• Inquiring about  the status of the transaction
  
  Through this service the customer sends an SMS message containing the word ‘DEDTRN’ followed by the trade license number, for example: DEDTRN 510500 to the following SMS service number 4488. After that an SMS is being sent to the customer containing the transaction’s status and number, incase a payment voucher is issued the fee amount will be included in the message.
   
• Inquiring about the total fees of the license fines
  
  Through this service the customer sends an SMS message containing the word ‘DEDFIN’ followed by the trade license number, for example: DEDFIN 510500 to the following SMS service number 4488. After that an SMS is being sent to the customer containing the license number and the total fine fees.
  
   
• Notifications:
  This type of service sends an SMS message to the number that is being registered on the license to notify the customer about information regarding his license.
  
  This type has five services which are:
  1. License Expiry notification:
     This service sends an sms message as a notification to the customer 30 days before his license expires.
      
  2. Temporary  Commercial permit expiry notification:
     This service sends an sms message as a notification to the customer 4 days before his temporary commercial permit expires.
      
  3.  Added remark on a license notification:
     This service sends an sms message as a notification to the customer to inform him that a remark has been added to his license in order to contact the department for more information.
      
  4. Added remark on a transaction notification:
     This service sends an sms message as a notification to the customer to inform him that a remark has been added to his transaction in order to contact the department for more information.
      
  5. Payment voucher notification:
     This service sends an sms message as a notification to the customer to inform him that his license procedures are completed and a payment voucher has been issued. In addition, the sms includes the total transaction fee for the customer to contact the department in order to pay the fees and receive the license.
      

How do I use the service?

STEP 1: Identify the information required. Type on your mobile, the keyword and parameters for the service.by

STEP 2: Send the message to 4488. (Check the keyword of the service along with the parameters and consider the space in between then send it to 4488)

STEP 3: Receive information on your mobile in real time.
